Kerry L. Heyward is the University Attorney for Georgia State University where she is a member of the senior leadership team and oversees all legal affairs for the University. She is responsible for a wide variety of legal matters, including governance, corporate and real estate transactions, acceptance and stewardship of planned gifts and other contributions from individuals and organizations, employment and student issues, research matters and compliance, athletics and coordinating litigation for the University. Ms. Heyward serves on numerous University committees, including the University’s Administrative Council, University Senate, Senate Athletics Committee, and is a member and secretary of the Georgia State University Research Foundation, Inc. She is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys. Ms. Heyward earned a B.A. degree from the University of North Florida and her J.D. degree from Stetson University College of Law. She is admitted to practice law in both Georgia and Florida.
